Rain Barrel

Early this summer, I got two rain barrels and connected these to the roof drain pipe to collect rain water. These barrels are interconnected and have a combined capacity of 500 litres. At the current water rates, each fill will save about $1.50. While it may take a couple of years to recoup the cost of these barrels, at least, it is environment-friendly and the plants love the rain water. So far this year, we have been getting good rain and I have used only about 600 litres of rain water, but there are still 3 months of gardening season, and I feel that I will be able to make good use of these barrels.
